Oh Sunny Days

A little jealous?

Yeah, me too.
Who would not want to be hangin' out with this guy?

Well, coloring him up was just as fun and much less sticky :D

Whimsy Stamps Products used:

I started with my image, Fish in the Sun; coloring him in Copics. Cutting the image out
with Basic Stitched Ovals Die Set

Then moved on to the fun messy part.haha
Just playing with Mermaid Scales Stencil was so cool.
I sprayed it with my Copic air system with a gold combo; adding more dark at the bottom.
Finished off with Everyday Scripted Sentiments and a couple little fishies.

Blooms and Birdhouses

How gorgeous is this new image from DoveArt Studios and Whimsy Stamps?

There's just something about Hydrangea. Add the Birdhouse and I'm in Heaven.

Products I've used are

I've colored my image, Potted Birdhouse, up in Copics. Taking the Basic Stitched Oval Die Set, I've cut my image and frame out.
If you noticed with Card Builder Windows Die Set, it will cut a pierced window out but also cuts a pierced inside piece. I took advantage of this to  I've cut out my background and frame in different papers. Simply lay the pieces back together in the card base and adhere down.
Finally, I've taken the Card Builder Windows Die Set tab to create a background for my sentiment. It, of course, comes from Everyday Scripted Sentiments.
Adding a little ribbon and pearls makes my card complete.

Wavy Ride

Oh my I had a blast with this card.

Whimsy Stamps products I've used:

I colored Naia and her friend up with my Copics
Then cut them out with the inner portion of Shaker Maker Rectangle Die Set.
I lay the Making Waves Stencil across the image and taped it down. I then took an aqua and lime gelato; using my finger, I rubbed up with one color and down with the other. I moved the image around under the stencil to custom place my waves.
Finally, I took a piece from my Paper Door paper stash and cut with the larger
For the sentiment, I took that same Paper Door paper and Stayz On Ink pad with Everyday Scripted Sentiments and Tim Holtz stamp platform to create a custom sentiment.

Big Catch

It can be difficult to find the right "Man" image.
That is why I just love this.

From DoveArt Studios and Whimsy this is
I added the great catch using the first and fourth fish from

I popped a bit of thread in to make his line.

Finally I used the Gingham Background with Tim Holtz distress ink pad; making sure not to cover all the stamp evenly. Then, I let the distress do it's thing.
The bottom piece was ghosted by slightly moving the paper and stamping again with the left over ink on the pad.

Stained Sunflower

I really love stained glass and have always wanted to make my own piece.
I've seriously thought about it for a long, long time.
I also, thankfully and sometimes, am smart enough to know I would have no fingers left if I tried it.

Wow was I excited to see the stained glass pieces from this months collection at Whimsy.

I colored it several times (which I never do because I believe art is meant to be what it is meant to be)
But...I wanted it to have that stained glass effect and to do that, I wanted to do water color.
I don't do alot of water color so I worked on it many times before I was happy and there was still paper left :D.

My medium was Derwent intense pencil.

Light Your Way

To me, a Lighthouse is a Beacon.
Weather that be of Hope or simply to show the way, it's always a positive beacon.
Sometimes, we all need a little Light.
This week, I have an image from Whimsy Stamps and DoveArt Studios called

I love this scene; the grass, water and even the stone in the distance.
It's so soothing to me.

Hope you have a little beacon in your day.

See ya soon,
