Just Float

We are expecting snow on Friday so I want to protest with some fun in the sun action.
That's right. Action!!
In case you've been under a rock and missed the seriously cool release of No See Kinetic dies from Whimsy Stamps and DoveArt Studios, here's a peek.

Products I've used are:

I colored up the little kitty from Ahoy Matey! Clear Stamp Set and fussy cut him out.
Then I sprayed a simple square of cardstock with spots of blues to create a subtle sky color.
Using Grass and Cloud Edger Die Set, I created some cloud designs and with a torn kitchen towel and air gun, I textured my clouds.
Next, taking a smaller section of cardstock, I measure approximately where I needed my water to go.
I edged the top with the wave in the No See- Kinetic Curved Basic Die Set.
(Now let me pause to explain what No See means.
You've seen cards that have a "movement" section cut out with dies. Well this has a cover, so to speak, that hides that cut out. So my kitty actually looks like he's floating the river.)
Back to the description: I cut out a second wave and used it as a stencil to create more waves with my air gun.
I popped my sentiment in and added some water drops from the Ahoy Matey! set but then, I thought about my Nuvo Crystal Drops.
I put a drop of Neptune Turquoise  on the stamped drop and carefully pulled the drop down to cover and create a textured water drop. The Nuvo Crystal Drops reformed and dried to perfection. Granted, my drops weren't amazing but that was my fault. Ha! Practice :D
Now to the fun part. I cut out my slide with Kinetic Curved Basic Die Set, added the slider part and a attached it to my kitty. I placed the wave in front of the cut out slide.
Now my kitty folds over the wave and Just Floats.
At last thought, I added a little anchor and some rope to keep kitty from floating away!
A little shell on the pull tab finished it all off.
Check it out below

Winter Lake

I absolutely love this image from DoveArt Studios and Whimsy Stamps.

This is Winter Lake
with

I had to color this image because I had to do the lake. Frozen water AND snow always challenge me, so challenge me I did. I so glad because I love the way it turned out.
I Inked up my choice from Celebrate Adapt-a-Word Chipboard to create my sentiment.

Christmas Flake

We've all caught snowflakes on our tongues right?
Tell me you have..
What better fun than to do it with you BFF or Unicorn BFF.

This set is just so fun.
It's new from Whimsy Stamps and called

The first thing I did on this one was set my hill.
I used  the arched piece from Stitched Border Die Trio and some white felt. I then took some gesso and smashed it in areas to create texture. Sprinkled a little glitter cause snow sparkles...just sayin'.
Now for the images. I positioned them so they sat on my snow hill and using my Tim Holz stamper, I inked them down. next, I fussy cut the bottom portions and tucked the felt under so they actually sat on the hill. Creating a mask with copic mask it, I sprayed my sky. Then I colored my pieces from Favorite Flake up with copics.
Finally, with White ink, I stamped the flakes. After it dried, I restamped them with Memento Grey. It's harder to see the effect in photo but it looks pretty cool.

Lastly, if you haven't caught snowflakes on your tongue, you got some work to do this season.
Seriously, do it!!

A Cozy Rose Hug

You know when you buy a new crafting item and you are so excited to use it and then can't figure it out...

But first let me tell you about this gorgeous new stamp
I think it really sets of the card.
It's just gorgeous.

I have been drooling lately over these new images embossed with the Gold Embossing Power
But I pride myself on making things my own
Well about this Cozy Blanket Background image...
When I got this stamp I knew what needed to happen, Boom!!! I embossed it onto white cardstock. Then, I took my pan pastels red and green and blended over until I got a look I liked and cut it out with the Notched Square Dies

Now onto the first sentence of my post. MONTHS ago, I got some Foamiran and some Flower Dies and I tried. I tried some more and kept trying. Watched Videos and tried some more.
I discovered I'm not very good at this.
I also remembered I wasn't good at most things the first, second, sixth etc time.
Well, by jollies, this stamp called for some gorgeous red roses and with the 08mm Dark Red Silk Foamiran and Rose Petal Die it was going to have them.
I'm not unhappy with them but you know....
I added some sugar berries, pinecones, little rosebuds and baby's breath, a little glitter poinsettia button that I've clipped the back from and a tiny bell to finish.
Using the smallest Hand Stitched Nested Rectangle Die Set, I cut from red vellum. I thing it looks like silk. Perfect for my silk roses. I popped on my  Gold Embossed sentiments from Beaucoup Bouquet Sentiments

And to my delight, this is one of my favorite cards that I've done.

Copic Christmas

Ok, it's a Christmas Tree colored in Copics.
I did this image from the DoveArt Studio line at Whimsy Stamps a couple weeks ago
But, it was in pencil and I had done it a while back. If you remember, Jenn had asked
me to showcase it.
Well, I had already redone it in Copics
So, today, I bring you Copic Christmas Tree.
