Spring is Springing

It's a happy day.
The grass is greening, the birds are singing, the temps are warming.
It's been a crazy, cold winter and spring cannot come soon enough for me.
These new little Sprites over at Make it Crafty inspired my spring card today.
With all the Crafty Web friends all over the world, I wanted to do something universal for all.

I've used the word "friend" in different languages. Please forgive me if translator has butchered any.

The image is Friendly Flower Sprites, I've placed them in the pail from Cottage Elements Collection, staying with the flower/wood theme from this months Make it Colourful Challenge
On the back side, I've place in the petals, "Wherever you grow, I will always be here for you."
and a place in the center for signature.
The image was colored in copics.
Using my Zing with MTC software and the teardrop shape, I created a sunburst flower.
With the PNC:Printing the words off onto the petals. Remember to shut off the words when cutting by clicking the eye closed.
Big Hugs Crafty Friends.
Thought I'd share my flowere inspiration pics today as they are so gorgeous

I've added a ton of embellishments and papers, distressing all the papers,
MS butterfly border, Marvy Uchida butterfly punch topped with a strung button

Apple Annie

The month is half through and I've been struggling to make "wood".
Yep, wood.
Another incredible challenge at Make it Crafty's Make it Colourful.
Always two choices. Pick one or both.
The easy version is to practise coloring flowers and/or trees.
The Hard Challenge...Wood
I do love a challenge though and the inspiration team have outdone themselves on this one.
So, without further ramble, here's my project
I've used several images from the Country Cottage Collection

The scene has been colored in copics
I found a burlap covered frame from home basics. I've used this as my base for a hanging picture.
Using a wood grain embossing folding to create texture to the maroon card stock,
distressed and Ranger DI to highlight the grain for the frame.
Upholstery brads at the comers
The tag sentiment is a sticker. I've distressed and inked tag then tied it up with a checkered ribbon.
Burlap flowers from paper studio are colored with copics to match the images
A vial of flower soft cause who doesn't love a nice potpourri laying around ;)
handkerchief folded burlap ribbon in the corner and a few other extras, We are good to go.

I hope you enjoyed the country trip.  I'm ready for the hammock...

Here's some close ups of the embellie

So Sweeet

Surely by now, you know about the $1 digis that Zoe at Make it Crafty has been featuring.
Well, if you've just come out of hiding, you need to check them out.
Just join us at our Facebook group for the great deals and that dollar digi code, inspiration from some of the best and lots of friendly chatter.
This months image is the cutest little ice cream lover, Valerie.
Frenchie Valerie to be specific and she does love her treat.

I've colored her up in copics. Cut her our using my Zing cutter.
From the MTC gallery, I've used one of the medallians for background and sentiment frame.
DCWV "Sweet" matstack papers
Ice cream buttons that I've removed the back button portion so as to lay flat.
A bit of ribbon and some pearls make her sweet as can be.
Go grab your little frenchie and show us what you create.
here's her close up views

A Pirate in a Box

Pirates?
Oh no...it's just Alvida.
But she has found a priceless treasure, you, her darling friends.
This month our Make it Crafty Facebook sketch isn't a card at all, it's a card in a box.
I've gathered up some MiC booty to create my jewel.
The tutorial for the box is here at Monica's.
It's in cm so if your like me, you'll need a conversion
or at least a ruler with both standard and metric. ;)
I've colored them up with Copics,
pirate pack from paper studio 3Dstickers
the treasure is frantage, glitter, embossing powders and a few gems
pirate signs are from dp

Here's the outside closed view
 inside view

and some treasure hehe...ok, it's just glitter

I look forward to seeing your card in a box at MiC.
