Peaceful Blessings

I have been wanting to make something with feathers for ages.
Welllll, thank you Karen for these gorgeous treats.
This is
They come in a pack of three and are already so detailed,
I just used them right from the pack.

OMGosh, aren't they amazing!!!

I printed off a dreamcatcher, fussy cut it, added a few seed beads to give it a color pop.
With the center piece of a flower brad, I added some fringe to create a concho.
I also added some beads on a piece of embroadery thread,
laying that on the feathers with a bit of fringe.

to compliment the feathers, I've used an image called Cornelia from Saturated Canary,
Framed her with Pierced Ticket BDZ dies
Sentiment from DoveArt Studios

Walk like an Egyptian

Sometimes, you just have to revisit things of the past...
I feel like I've been so slammed lately with kiddy stuff, hubby stuff and just stuff
that I needed to color something I've always wanted to color and just be in the moment.
There are times I literally scroll through MiC images...for hours...cause there is a ton. :D
and just let an image call to me.
Nope, not this time. I went in search of them gem.

Here is Cleopatra
and
IMG_29401
The idea behind this was to do sepia tones with a flash of color.
The colors were starting to blend too much so I changed up my tones.
Still staying with neutrals and it worked much better.
I've just gotten in a wink of stella clear glitter brush and had to try that out.
Gotta admit, I was intimidated by the background but it came together quickly.
Hope you enjoy my Queen of the Nile and Walk like an Egyptian cause it's fun...:D

Light through the Trees

Oh boy, this month Make it Crafty will challenge you right over your comfort zone.
We are creating light through the trees.
I had an image all picked and it was a popular one, so...
me wanting to always be different (it's a good thing LoL) I picked this one.
No one else had done it, it was pretty, good idea right?
Well after I had finished up; I realized I had no "light through the trees"
Why? Because I had no tree.
Sorry, it's a phone pic...

So, I asked for help. Well, help or I was gonna have to start over. Oh No!!!
Thankfully, our team at MiC is awesome and they like to help.
Or...maybe they like being bossy and telling others what to do...Kidding
I seriously love my teamies.
Either way, I got the answer I needed.
Just add some light inside the tree house radiating out.

Ohhhhhhh.

Ok, to do that realistically, it would have to be some bright light.
To make that happen, I would also need to add light beaming onto the surrounding
door frame and light coming out the windows.

Light through the trees. :D

Always remember, we love to help you out. All you need do is ask.

Into the Woods

My husband loves to hunt.
Not that he really goes specifically to hunt but to have some time in nature.
Unfortunately, since we've had kiddos, he doesn't go often.

I've used this month's theme of Masculine at
Southern Ridge Trading Company
to create a little nature at home.

Using GAR-586

NAT-615
 (not shown)

I created the Birch trees with my Zing cutter, then colored them with copic E44. 40,41
The deer is colored first in black, crackle, the brown.
Bird 1 is colored in dark blue, crackle then black.
Bird 2 is inked with Tim Holtz Walnut
Bushes are painted with Brown, crackle then antique white, edging with Tim Holtz Walnut
Background is sprayed with B41 and grass colored with E35.33,30
All is place on a 6x8 canvas

Hope you enjoyed my manly picture.
There's many options to make your Masculine projects.
Don't forget, you don't have to use a product by SRTC
then add them here...

Big Hugs
Dorinda

Grouchy Heatwave

Have you seen the new stamps from Roberto Rascals in the CC Designs May Release
Roberto Rascal's Grouchy Heatwave makes me laugh so hard
Seriously, this is me when I get too hot.
I fell in love with him and wanted to do something fun.
Here's to Summer!!!

I've used BDZ die, a little frantage,
fan charm and curled up a little streamer ribbon from a Christmas bow.
I doodled a bit to make more "air"

Copics used:

Details, Details, Details.

I LOVE adding details; Accenting ones drawn in, adding some that aren't.
Recently, Zoe created a New EBook Basic Techniques when Colouring Faces, and I was over the moon.
So many details, tips, hints about contouring face shapes, eyes, lips, oh my goodness.
I used her technique to color up Aleisha.

face tutorial

Mostly, I worked the eyes but the hair and manga face feature is also included.
Did I tell you, the images all come with the book?
I'm not super happy with my abilities yet, but thankfully, I know it takes practice, practice, practice.
And there's so many techniques to play with.
I hope to see your plays with the ebook.
