bling it on

It's been a while. Summer and the kids are home. Family is always first. I still try at nap time to keep on the watch so I don't completely lose myself from the art world.

Krista Smith, who is such an inspiration, sent out a freebie and I've never met a Saturated Canary I didn't like so...had to create. I didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked but I also didn't want to miss an opportunity to enter one of her challenges as I've not done so yet.

Here is the beautiful "fancy"

Hopefully, you can view her and the colors not too blurred. the computer I used to use died. Along with a lot of info but...I digress.
Now, I have to use my laptop, which I love, but I can't tell the clarity of my pics.

Anyway, she is colored in copics, the bottome portion of her dress was masked and versamark glitter pad applied.
Her frame cut of with spellbinders, embossed, then chalked.
hair decorations are swarovski crystals.
Letters of the Sentiment are from Sizzix, frame is edged with a gold emboss.
The lower pink flower is WOC glued onto a mesh pick. the other is from a pack that I can't remember at the moment
Papers are random from stash

I'm keeping it quick cause the little guys are waking up. But I created her for a special occasion. My darling niece is now Sweet 16. Happy Birthday Taryn.

au naturel

I know you've come across an image you couldn't wait to work with. Here's one of my many. Time is not kind to me so 5 minutes here, 10 there. She is finally done.

This stunning Ivy fairy comes from Delicious Doodles
Colored in copics and prisma pencils. Thank you to Melenie Holtz, who inspired my colors. I knew I wanted greens but oh, how this lady can color
Backgrounds are from DCWV Linen closet stack and stash. Distressed with knife and file, then inked on all layers.
Frames are nestabilites. Leaf die from sizzix
Buttons and ribbons from stash.

She felt like someone a man would go for. Hmmm, wonder why, lol. So, I made her for a someone special.

I'm entering her into:

Ok, I think this is my 10this card. Not a lot and it seems like I never have time but I'm adicted. The best thing about still being a newb is I get to try something new each time.

So, this little lady from Whoopsi Daisy is done on kraft and done in Prisma colors. I wanted to do something with the prisma on kraft because I love the way the colors are so true. And being springish...I needed something brighter.

The background is a circle that I've added halved circles to make the flower. I've since saw dies that are actually already done this way (if you know this die, please leave a comment)
Papers are both from DCWV. One from blossoms and butterflys and on the glitter mat stack
flowers are prima and WOC
Ribbon from stash

The inside is embossed in swiss dots  and cut out around with an MS corner punch edge and dots then inked.

The sentiment, again, edged with corner punch then paperpieced the flower, added some pearl and rinestone to bling up the centers.
Sentiment is cloud 9 simple thoughts- memories

I embossed the sentiment in clear and for some reason couldn't get it to focus. My picture taking needs work. Ahhh. It's all a learning process. :)

Love is in the air

I found this gorgeous image a while ago at The Sherlocks Home(you can find her new store here) and had been waiting for just the right time to create something with it. My darling husband gifted me with the time when he informed me a friend of his was getting married. I got to add some personality to this one and I just love it. Hope they will have many years of wonderfulness.

Basic white card stock is used. Background embossed with Swiss dots then spray with glimmer mist. The border is a MS punch on top of mirror board. Flowers are Prima with an added on from stash. The rings are charms.
What is actually colored, is in copics. The flowers in her hair are so tiny and I wanted them to really pop. What I finally did was a coarse glitter and then colored over that with a copic. The real life effect is amazing. I did the same with her buttons without coloring back over them.
The lace is from stash. I used versamark and Ranger holographic embossing powder. I am so in love with that stuff.
Double hearts, again from stash.

My husband teased about the rings, saying how much he could have saved with this pair. The rascal. They are very pretty though.

the interior on the left is done with a MS all over the page punch, embossed again with the holographic and then I used a white powder around the edges with a TPC Studio Brush Strokes Greetings Stamp. I'm not sure you can actually see it in the photo.
The right side is another MS around the page punch with an embossed then glittered card over it. There is also the matching lace from the dress peeking out.
I'll have to check on the sentiment and then post it later.

The box is used front the same items as the card. I really had to restrain not to keep adding more to the box.
Here is the front

the closed back

And the interior flap of the opened back.

Of course, in the wonderful winter, there was not enought sun to bling out all the glitter. I do love that stuff :-)

However,  I hope you enjoyed my Love.

Have a great Day!!!

18th century vintage

When I first started playing around with paper crafts, I saw so many beautiful vintage/Victorian goodies. Of course, I usually bypassed those challenges as they were way out of my comfort zone. After all, I still consider myself very green. I got to thinking, my grandmother used to have all these things in her home: lamps, furniture, knickknacks.  All of them Victorian/vintage. I dreamed of having them for myself some day. So, in memory of so many years ago, I decided to challenge myself. It's not exactly how I envisioned it but I'll take it.

this is a lantern pattern that I've added images from Art by Jean. I've added some old chunky beads and a bit of ribbon. The Fleur is from spellbinders and I've added some gem and pearls to jazz them up

I'm going all out and enter into some challenges:
Simon Says: Anything Goes
Sparkle: New Craft Goodies
Paper Craft Star: Victorian

Cupid's Love

Hello world
Been a while. Got all the little guys back to school and the youngest decides he's no longer taking naps. So, I've been coloring when times permits. But I had to, at least, get a Valentine Card on the grid.

Once again, I got this gem from Scrapper's Delights. I just love them...

I printed her with a back ground that I greyed out so I could have the clouds appearance but color on my own. :) She is colored in Copics.
Her target is also from Scrapper's Delights. I've turned it in a 3D, copied just the heart and decreased the size gradually to make a "target"
The Sentiment is my own, printed and cut out with Spellbinders Shapeabilities Floral Doily. The Outside frame is stamped and then embossed using TPC brushstroke greetings.
Corner hearts are punched with a cool fiskars punch that I just got at a JoAnns 10 miles over in the next town that I didn't even know was put in about a year ago. Really need to get out more.
The ribbon is from stash.
I tried not to get too girly since it would be given to a man. Well, could be.
Hope you like her.
