DoveArt Studios New Release

Jennifer Dove from DoveArt Studio is back
with another collection of amazing stamps.
We have a wonderful, colorful hop for you to enjoy today.
The stamps are available for purchase now.
You will want them all by the end of the hop.

I LOVE birds and I LOVE Jennifer Dove's birds.
There is SO much detail and what a joy to color.

This is Sparrow.

Using the Stitched Bracket Dies by DieZyne, I've created an simple elegant frame.
Of course, sparrow has been colored up in copics:
Kept CAS because he is one of those images that speaks for himself.

And because I love these images so much,
I've colored up the Himalayan Poppy as well.

Again using one of the DieZyne Dies called Half Circle,
Adhering the Poppies to the pop up portion
that has been created by the Half Circle Die,
I get this super easy Sympathy card that looks like tons of time has gone into it.
I really hope you've enjoyed my selections today.
Keep hopping, there's lots more gorgeousness to see.

If you get lost along the hop, here is the order . . .
Comment on each blog, because 2 of them hold the prize.
What is the prize???
Two lucky winners will win 2 stamps from the hop.
The winner will be announced on Sunday January 31st at 8:00 pm est

Gettin' Freaky

I've always enjoyed being a little different.
Nothing over the top but I do dance to my own beat.
One of the new releases from SRTC was so me, I just had to make a card with it.
I've added one of my favorite MiC images that I've been itching to play with.
May I introduce:
Southern Ridge Trading Company: Wood = 504
and Make it Crafty: Puppeteer

I created the drips using red acrylic; dripping a small amount on tin foil then using a toothpick, swooshing out a line. reapplying after dry to build up the effect.

Tim Holtz Idea-ology Crossbone with red rhinestones added

Copics used:
skin: E000, 00, 11, 04, BV 25. R20
Hair: E15, Y38, Y09, 04, R24, 22, V05, 17, 09
Reds: R59, 27, 14
Black: W7,5,2
Green: YG 67, 07
blue: B26, 22, 24
I'd like to enter into:

Got cha
This little mischievous cupid has caught the "love bug" and is on the prowl.
I'm not sure if I'm still on a twinkling lights path
but I just had to glitter, glitter and more glitter.
You know how pictures don't do justice?
This is so the case, cause I need some shades...Whoa!
Ok, so down with the serious stuff.
I've used Love-508
There's so much detail, I really felt compelled to emphasize all the good stuff.

Little cupie has been colored with Polychromos pencils
I've used a combination of laying down a layer of glue and glittering, paints and embossing.
Seed pearls are added to give a little texture and the little pink hearts are stamped on
using versamark then pink embossing powder. I've used a versamark pen to go around and add the white embossing powder.

The I U letters are cut out using sizzix die, glued onto a gold texture mirror board and fussy cut around
The heart corners are actually the scraps from a punch that have been glued in place.
Stencil with red copic glitter pen create the dotted frame.
I've placed it all on a simple white background to really make it all pop.

I had a blast doing this project.
I hope to see some Valentines/Love projects from ya'll.
We've got some super awesome releases all ready for you.

Oh that is so cliche...giggle

Hi ya everyone.

background sprayed on using a paper towel method
added some rain with a multiliner and drops using this tutorial by Jennifer Dove
I used an XO stamp to randomly stamp over a background
then covered with Red embossing powder.
I also had to perfect ribbons to use.
I combined both XO and hugs and kisses

Challenge yourself to be free

Hello Everyone.
Hope you've all had a fabulous Holiday Season and welcome to the New Year.
As you know, Make it Crafty has introduced a gorgeous collection of flowers.
They are perfect for any color medium but especially perfect for this month's challenge; watercolors

I'm not especially adept at watercolors but I was really excited about this challenge
because I do love painting. Ok, paint by numbers haha but hey, it's painting.
So Zoe says something like, just gotta let it go and be free your painting. Not trying to be perfect.
Well, I tried and it was hard to "let it go" after practicing so long
at staying in the lines and realism etc.
My first efforts were using just a cheap paint but it turned out...kinda ok.
mic jan release
I am so trying again.
Ordered some paints because new paints are inspiring. :D
And just stopped thinking and painted.
I loved it.
Didn't try to achieve anything, just swooshed and dipped and patted.
Great time.
First I redid the lilies.
Then I popped back to the Magnolias
magnolia post
I think I've found a new love.
I hope you give it a go too.
And....just be free!
