Up, Up and Away

Happy Hump Day.
I hope you're having a great week.
My creation today for Southern Ridge Trading Company is an awesome piece
I just love letting my imagination go wild when creating.
I think, the more challenged I feel, the happier I am with the outcome.
And I love these larger pieces.
I just want them to speak for themselves and they do it so well.

I painted the yellow and red with acrylic paint, then my versamark pen on top;
 lastly, some ranger holographic glitter
Then, I've taken my Y38, 35, 32 and given extra detail.
The basket it twine rope that I've unraveled and then weaved.
I've made sure it was the proper size, then added a strong glue to the back.
After drying, I've cut the ends and applied it to my balloon.
I've taken two images from free backgrounds, removed their background in MS Word.
Finally, taking a piece of cloud paper, I've printed my sentiment and baby balloons on the paper.
Always, be sure to do a test run to assure proper placement.
Don't forget to enter our challenge this month.
The theme is "Spring"

Banner Heidi

This is Heidi.
Her outline die comes with these adorable little banner flags.
I always have tons of little pieces everywhere whenever I use these outline dies.
I just cut and cut and cut.
Love them!!
With this being no different, I had to figure out how to place tons of flag cut outs.

Taking a "doodle" idea from Faye, the doodle queen,
I got my microliner out and started playing.

This month's challenge at Make it Crafty is "Portrait"
I love little Robbie and wanted a male image so I've chosen to create him into my Portrait.
It's been a crazy month so I didn't put him on a card.
too many birthdays lol.
I hope you like him.

Using some techniques from the uber talented Zoe from her new ebook,
I've added facial features to create realism.
I used my polychromos pencils for more freedom and
I just adore how his little face worked out.

It's a beautiful thing

I've heard it a thousand times...
Life is beautiful!
A baby's birth, watching two people in love, nature: it's all beautiful
This month at Southern Ridge Trading Company, we are celebrating Spring.
How beautiful is that?
For my Spring creation, I've used one of the new releases
and another piece
I've separated the third butterfly, keeping his shape
to spread out the design.

So many people paper piece and to be honest, I've not really tried it.
These birds were just calling for some realism and I know I'm not that artistic
so I thought I'd give the piecing a try.
Taking a couple images from free wallpaper, removing the background to leave just the bird:
I've then, adjusted their size to fit my chipboard. I had to "piece" a couple of parts but
I love the way it turned out.
Then, I colored the butterflies with Derwent Inktense, added some stickles for dimension.
To finish up, I added a Doodle Inspire Word from Make it Crafty and a few stamps
