Hello everyone, I'm so glad you're hanging out with us this weekend.
Using a DoveArt Studios rubber stamp called "Web Background,"
I have created my card.

Copics Used:
Black pencil
Microliners: 08,05,03

My image is a background image but I wanted to use it alone to show how
easy it is to use it as a focus image as well.
I emphasized the interior background;
being careful not to go too dark as my little Spider needed to show too.
I used the many colors to create a "funky, eerie" look.
Using my Ranger holographic glitter and versamark pen, I went over each web thread.
Then using a floss called "whisper thread" I covered it in the embossing and
applied it to the outer most portions of the web.
The frame is simple but embossed with a web imprint and the holographic powder.

And since I can never get enough of my DoveArt; I've also colored Apple Branch

copics used:
Leaves: G99, G28, 24, 14
Apples: R89, 29, 27, 24, 05,Y26
Branch: E47, 18, 15, 13, 30

You can purchase "Web Background" and "Apple Branch"
as well as all the new realeases right here.

My fun question to you; for your chance to win
one of the wonderful prizes of a
NEW release stamp, a random stencil and die is:

What is your preferred background noise while coloring?
Rocking out, Gettin' your country on, classically classical, quiet as a mouse..

Just leave your answer in the comments below and head back to
PPC&F for more fun through out the day.
You will want to check back to Passionate Paper Creations and Friends tomorrow
to see if you are a winner.

Springing Spring

Oh Spring, I miss you...
I love this album.
I have hoped to play with it since I first laid eyes upon it.
Ahhhh, wishes do come true.
I wanted to really show off the "picture" of the album.
However, I usually go to the acrylic paints and I'm not so comfortable with them.
Grabbing my copics, I gave it a try.
Thinking; if it doesn't work, I can cover it up with the acrylics.
Ohhhh, I was so pleasantly surprised. The copics went on wonderfully.
The color, a little more subdued; but I'm okay with that.
I LOVE how it turned out and what a complete joy to play with.
The detail in the album just blows my mind
Album 635
Copics used:
G28, YG17
Butterflies: RV23, 14, V28, 15, 12
Bird: B04, R02
I've added some WOC blooms, fussy cut a couple butterflies from Maja papers
and a few items from stash.
The album comes with the rings plus additional pages; 10 including the cover.
I've added a simple layer of the blue background here to the inside of the first page.
Now it too can be used for pictures.

Cast Shadows

This month at Make it Crafty, our challenge is creating Cast shadows.

Cast shadows are created when an object is blocking the light source and so the shadow will cast the shape of the object; like the tree and egg statue in this picture here.

It sounds a lot harder than it is.

I'll show you the super easy way I created my shadows.

I always print my images on a scrap paper to make sure they are small enough for cards
but not too small that I can't color details in parts of it.

I used the print test image, held it and my real image up to the light.
Light box or window works great.
Then I flipped my test image upside down and reversed it, held it in position so my coloring image to I could get an idea where the shadows should fall and how they would appear.

You can change the position to get your light coming from different levels or directions.

Adjust them out as far or near as you'd like.
Here, you can see I extended it out very far.
You would just need to fill in that empty area noted by the arrow.
Just connect the lines. It's that easy.
You can definitely have the details like the light through the overhang as in the above example. You would not however, have the details in the house reflected since the light is totally blocked.
All is needed is to just shade them in solid.

Copics used:
Trees: E47,18,15,11,30
Steel: C7,5,3
House Wood: E47,35,31,W3
Outhouse, Extra Wood, Windmill Blades:
Windmill: Y26,32
Can: YG99,97,95,93

Make sure you check out the example of the other girls.
Some have chosen people and so you can see how easy it is to transfer the method to anything.

Happy Birthday Make it Crafty

Today is Make it Crafty's 5th Birthday!
I am so excited and honored to be a part of the celebration.
Almost 3 years ago I found MiC and fell in love.
I've been blessed enough to be a part of the FB team and now inspiration team for over two years.
I couldn't imagine not creating something special for this day.
Love you tons MiC.

This month's CAS challenge is to make a shaker card.
I've always wanted to and have even saved tons of acetate to do it.
Alas...I procrastinate...until now.
Thanks girls for the inspiration.
I couldn't get the star burst to photograph right with Sammy so I pic'd it alone. :D

Copics used:
Skin: E000, 00, 11, 04, RV10
Hair: E57, 35, 33, 31, 30
Dress: R29, 27, 24, 22, 21
