Whimsy Stamps and Glue Dots Inspirations Hop 

 Join us from August 27h through August 31st for a fun joint blog hop between 

Whimsy Stamps and Glue Dots. 

Our teams will be sharing lots of beautiful projects featuring products from both of these companies. And we will have lots of prizes hidden along the hop as well as a grand prize valued at $100!

For my project, I've chose to use 

Whimsy Stamps products:

Shaker Maker Pennant Flags Die Set

Bold ABC Die Set

Teardrop Splash Stencil

I cut out my pennant usng Shaker Maker Pennant Flags Die Set. I used the third largest size. After cutting my piece, before popping it from the die, I traced the inside triangle to cut out the center. Cutting twice more; one for the backing and one for the acetate.

  I glued down my letters, cut using Bold ABC Die Set, with Permanent Glue Squares
I then took the acetate, gluing it down with Micro Glue Dots which was perfect do to the small fiddly size I was working with.

I realized I did not have any foam tape so I grabbed up some craft foam and my
Permanent Glue Squares and Boom!! sticky foam was born.
I added some glitter for "shake" inside my pennant, and put all my pieces together.

Lastly, I cut out the final two words and attached them with Pop Up Glue Dots which popped them up perfectly to match the pennants above.

I used some gesso and the Teardrop Splash Stencil for some splash.
For the edge around my card, I took some pink tissue, tore and crinkled it. Then ran a row with Permanent Glue Squares to tack it down. The Micro Glue Dots came in handy on the parts I needed to tweak a bit.

This was loads of fun.

One of my favorite things about coloring DoveArt images
is that I feel like an artist who's painted up a scene.

Here, I have my own seclude island.
using only a Canoe

I've colored my bit of serenity using copics with a little prisma pencil emphasis.

Grass and Cloud Edger

For these guys, I stamped the image twice; 

colored one and cut the heads and tails from the second.

I then added a double layer of foam tape that I thinned down into about an eighth inch thin piece.

I added that to the TOP printed portion of the second image piece, put in a few seed beads and adhered to the back of the colored image.

I cut out a template with the Grass and Cloud Edger and sprayed the background.

The foreground is a snake print that I've cut a window in using Card Builder Window Die Set

Finally, I used Art Action Wobbles with a .69x.81 base to bring them to life.

Hello, today is the last day to showcase the release at Whimsy Stamps 

but that doesn't mean the end.

This is Apple Basket.

I've colored Apple Basket in copics and did a CAS style card. 

Clean, simple and gorgeous.

Oh yes they do.

Cherry Blossoms are one of my top 5 fav flowers ever.

I jumped with excitement when I received this goody to play with.

Such a gorgeous background or stand alone as I've used it for.

I tried several methods of coloring this image

Here, I've done a soft edge with copics and trying to stay true to the authentic color scheme, I darkend the center a bit. Using Caran D'Ache Museum Aquarelle, I water colored the sky behind. 

I then took a gel pen in lime to dot the stamen ends and tied it all together with a pretty bow.

On this one, I've done a simple white ink on black cardstock. Super fast and I think it's quite elegant.

As I said, I tried this several ways but I'm not adding them all. lol.

I've been partying with the August releases from Whimsy Stamps.

Seriously, I could not stop so I have lots to share with you this month.

Today's card is featuring Teardrop Splash Stencil

No tears here though, I turned it into a super awesome background.

ABC Bold Die Set.

I taped the Teardrop Splash Stencil down onto my regular cardstock and sprayed some happy colors; making sure to mix them into each other.

Then, using mirror board and ABC Bold Die Set, I cut out my "Party".

Wanting a little embellishment, I fussy cut the balloons from this month's release of The Nope Rope, (more of that soon) and popped some embroidery thread on them.

Finally, I took glossy accents to puff out my letters and balloons.

The picture below doesn't do justice. It's super puffy :p.

Buzz

It's the first day of August.

You know what that means? 

It's Whimsy release week.

Continuing with the Elisabeth Bell images, this is 

Honeycomb.

Isn't she amazing?

I've colored Honeycomb with Copics and cut the image out with Card Builder Windows Die Set and layered her down. I then cut out two colors from Honeycomb Pattern Die and did a little overlapping to create pieces to fit my image.

Finally added some extra goodies and I just love her.
